JBL/Roxy Reference 230
$20.00
Released July, 2009
The Pros:Cute looking design that comes in some nice bright colors. Includes a useful carry pouch that protects them and prevents tangles. Sound quality is clear enough for some casual listening, although only mediocre for the price it is reasonably good.
The Cons:Cord is extremely thin and easy to snap. Buds themselves aren't very durable and will fall apart within a year of regular use. Larger than usual buds don't always fit well in the ears.
The JBL/Roxy Reference 230 are low-end earbud headphones. Featuring a neon green-blue or pink-orange color scheme, the earbuds will certainly stand out. The earbuds are among several products for which JBL has partnered with Roxy, a women's clothing and accessories manufacturer, to offer "audio accessories designed by women for women".

A travel pouch is included. Reviews complain that the earbuds will be uncomfortable for many users, and that bass response is poor. The in-ear Reference 250 offer a step up, adding an in-line microphone and greater noise isolation.
