Koss KEB4
$5.00
Released May, 2007
The Pros:Sound outputting is sufficient for spoken-word content - suitable as a highly-affordable option for users listening primarily to podcasts and audiobooks. Included spool-style carrying cause is very functional - allows users to quickly and efficiently store the headset with reliable protection while travelling. Highly-affordable price (~$5) makes the headset a good choice for "quick-fix", low-risk scenarios - suitable for purchase at the airport or while on a road trip without a primary headset.
The Cons:Thin plastic casing is seemingly prone to damage - many users report cracking/breakage issues within as little as one month of use. Oblong earbud design is fairly uncomfortable - unit is difficult to position accurately and rarely holds its place once seated. Poor frequency response results in a total lack of bass presence - not recommended for extensive music listening in general.
The Koss KEB4 model is a very low-end, "budget" headphone set designed to replace an existing broken, or non-working, pair and provide portable functionality to users always on the go. The KEB4 headphones feature a connected oval ear-bud port structure designed to fit snugly just on the outside of the ear canal.
