Koss SPARKPLUG
$15.00
Released May, 2006
The Pros:Provides excellent sound isolation, especially considering the price - expanding foam ear tips offer a pseudo-customized fit. Excellent sound outputting at the price point - frequencies are clear and well-balanced, with a considerable amount of bass presence when earbuds are properly seated. Sleek, classy aesthetic is a major selling point - unit is a much-welcomed departure from the overdone "egg-shaped" earbud style.
The Cons:Doesn't include any alternative ear tip sizes - may result in a hindered listening experience for users with considerably large or small ears. Doesn't include a protective travel case - makes unit much more susceptible to structural damage and wire tangling. Bass output borders on overwhelming for some listeners - several users are forced to cover the unit's port-holes with tape to minimize "boominess".
The Koss SPARKPLUG model is a mid-grade, "budget" headphone set designed to imitate more expensive models and provide an exceptional listening experience at a cheaper price. The headphones are targeted for pure music audiophiles of all ages, and Koss claims the headset provides accurate acoustical reproduction and sound isolation.

Many users report difficult when trying to "seat" the earbuds - unit requires a fair amount of "play" to attain optimal placement
