The Pros:Ear cushions are very comfortable, don't hurt the ear canal. Over-ear clips keep them in place, perfect for running. Sound performance is solid, good distortion-free clarity.

The Sony MDR-AS40EX are earbud style headphones from Sony's Sports and Active Style line. The headphones are designed with soft ear hangers that can be used to prevent the earbud from falling off the ear or detached so that the headphones can be used as traditional earbuds.

They feature Neodymium magnets to deliver powerful bass performance and a moisture guard system which allows for moisture to pass around the headphones. The MDR-AS40EX have a 2 ft cord with an in-line cord clip which makes it possible to use them with an arm-band as well as a 2 ft extension cord. They are very lightweight, at only 6 grams (excluding the cord), and come with 3 sizes of detachable hangers, 3 sizes of earbuds, and a hard carrying case. The MDR-AS40EX are more versatile in comparison with Sony's MDR-AS20J since they offer a more adjustable fit due to the additional accessories they come with.
