The Sony MDR-J20 model is a mid-grade "budget" set of headphones targeted for users who are very active. The "h.ear", MDR-J20, headphones provide a vertical in-ear design with a headband free clip on style that follows the contours of the ear and keeps the earbuds from slipping off during rigorous activities such as exercising, skating, dancing or playing sports.

The open-air earbud design allows surrounding noise to reach the ears while worn allowing users to hear the outside world for safety.
