Sony MDR-W24V
$15.00
Released June, 2004
The Pros:Headband is comfortable, doesn't press down on the head. Headphones will stay on the head during a typical run. Allow outside sounds, safer and easier to hear people calling for you.
The Cons:If the cord snags on something, this tends to be enough to break the headphones. Sound gets very distorted when volume control set high. Don't stay in the ears very well.
The Sony MDR-W24V is a low-end set of headphones with a vertical, in-ear design that allows outside noise in - which is safer for busy environments, but also reduces the overall audio quality. The MDR-W24V headphones feature an ultra-light/ultra slim headband that is broad for even weight distribution, a cord mounted volume control for quick and convenient access, and a Neodymium magnet driven 13.5mm driver which is small enough to fit inside the ear.
